Is this your first jam and have no clue how a jam works? Well I’m glad you found this video! Here, I’m going to explain my strategy for game jams that I developed after about 2 years of game jams. Enjoy!

How to write GOOD FEEDBACK:
– Never say “this is bad”, always try to say how you’d improve it to make it better.

– Never just write “I enjoyed it”, provide some extra context to that, like which parts of the game you liked the most and stuff like that.

– Always try to make your comment have some value towards the developer(s).

– Don’t worry about your comment sounding too negative. A good developer should be able to handle constructive criticism, but at the same time make sure you aren’t making a hate comment. If you justify your comments, you should be fine, but sometimes you just shouldn’t write about certain things.

– Remember that writing comments gives you so called “karma points”. This makes your game show up more often to other jammers. The way this works is completely undisclosed, but the more you comment and rate games, the more your game shows up.
